New program hopes to invest in Montgomery small businesses

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – The City of Montgomery and the County are hoping a new grant program will strengthen small businesses in the area.

The city and the county recently launched the Montgomery Thriving Small Business Grant Program.

The program, which is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act, provides $2.5 million for small businesses.

The funding is aimed to help businesses stabilize, expand and strengthen operations.
