Wilcox County man charged with attacking his ex-girlfriend in Marion
MARION, Ala. (WAKA) – A Wilcox County man is charged with attacking his ex-girlfriend in Marion.
Marion Police Chief Nikisha Gailes says 27-year-old Terry Harris is facing a list of charges that include two counts of attempted murder, firing a gun into an occupied vehicle, domestic violence and endangering the welfare of a child.
Gailes says on Tuesday, May 12, Harris ran his ex-girlfriend off the road, shot out a window to get inside and hit her several times. A child that Harris shares with the alleged victim was inside the car at the time of the incident, Gailes said.
“He actually beat her up once, he jumped in the car with her. He got in the front seat and she said he beat her, you know, hit her upside her head and her face area a couple of times. The 1-month old child happened to be in the front seat in a car seat at that time when it happened,” Gailes told Action 8 News.
Harris is being held in the Marengo County Jail without bond.
