1 dead, 2 injured in Perry County crash
PERRY COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – State troopers are investigating a crash in Perry County that left one person dead and two others injured.
The single-vehicle crash happened around 3:00 p.m. Saturday on Alabama 219 near the 12 mile marker, approximately 8 miles north of Valley Grande.
Troopers say 68-year-old Robert Perkins, of Selma, was fatally injured when the car he was a passenger in, left the roadway and struck a culvert before overturning
Perkins was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Troopers say the driver and another passenger were both injured and taken to Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
