Elmore County Man Convicted of Murder

Jadrian Long Web GraphicAn Elmore County jury has convicted 24-year-old Jadrian Long for the killing of Denard Williams.

Elmore County District Attorney Randall Houston says police arrested long in October 2014 after Williams was found shot 11 times in Millbrook.

Houston says the trial was difficult because all of the witnesses were friends at one time or another. Though many of the witnesses were already familiar with one another, Houston says Long and Williams were not.

Media outlets had previously reported that the incident was the culmination of a history of disputes between the victim and the suspect.

Long’s attorney, Virgil Ford, declined to comment.

Long is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 23.
