Man arrested in Covington County after chase that stretched through three South Alabama counties
COVINGTON COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – The Covington County Sheriff’s Office says a man faces several charges after a chase that went through three South Alabama counties.
Investigators say Saturday, a Covington County deputy was patrolling on Alabama Highway 55 north of Red Level when a vehicle sped by going 95MPH in a 65MPH zone. The deputy turned on his lights to conduct a traffic stop, but they say the driver kept going.
The chase went through McKenzie, then on various road and even fields in Covington, Conecuh and Butler counties.
They say the driver wrecked, then attempted to run away in some woods, but tracking dogs were used to make the arrest.
Deputies arrested 35-year-old Andrew Lister Hall of Ozark. He was charged with DUI, attempting to elude and attempted assault. His total bond amount is $37,500.
