Wetumpka Woman Dies in House Fire
A Wetumpka woman has died following a Thursday morning house fire.
62-year-old Ruby Carter died in the fire on Marshall Street. State Fire Marshal Ed Paulk says another person at the home during the fire was taken to the hospital with a “severe cut.”
Fire officials say the cause of the fire was combustibles being left too close to an electric space heater.
