Woman killed in wreck on Interstate 65 in Lowndes County
LOWNDES COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – A woman has been killed in a crash involving two SUVs and a tractor-trailer truck on Interstate 65 in Lowndes County.
Alabama State Troopers say 45-year-old Alisia Parker of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, was driving one SUV, which was hit by another SUV, driven by 35-year-old Joycelyn Mickles of Mobile. Investigators say the impact caused Parker’s SUV to hit a tractor-trailer truck, driven by 51-year-old Diron Kelly of Loganville, Georgia.
Parker was pronounced dead at the scene. Mickles was injured and taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.
The crash happened at about 1AM Wednesday on Interstate 65 near Julian Town Road, approximately eight miles north of the Lowndes County/Butler County line.
