Montgomery Regional Airport announces Jenkins as new executive director

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA Action 8) The Montgomery Airport Authority and Montgomery Regional Airport have named a new executive director.

Loyd Jenkins becomes the eighth executive director in the airport’s history. He became the interim executive director shortly after Wade Davis resigned from the position in 2025.

Before becoming the interim executive director, Jenkins had served as police chief at the airport since 2022.

“We are confident that Loyd’s leadership, industry expertise, and strong ties to the community will guide Montgomery Regional Airport into its next phase of growth,” said Robert Gould, Chairman of the Montgomery Airport Authority Board. “His recent achievement of the Certified Member designation demonstrates his commitment to excellence and positions him well to lead MGM with vision and purpose.”

Jenkins recently earned his Certified Member (CM) designation—an internationally recognized credential that reflects a high level of expertise, leadership, and commitment to excellence in airport management.

In his new role, Jenkins will oversee airport operations, strategic planning, and community engagement, while continuing to build on the airport’s recent momentum, including air service expansion, infrastructure improvements, and innovative marketing initiatives.

“I am honored to serve as Executive Director of Montgomery Regional Airport,” said Jenkins. “This airport plays a critical role in connecting our community, and I look forward to working alongside our dedicated team, partners, and stakeholders to continue elevating the travel experience and driving growth for the region.”
