ACTION 8 UPDATE: New details in Ann Street shooting that led to man’s arrest
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Action 8 News has learned new details about a shooting outside the Burger King on Ann Street.
According to court records, the shooting happened just before 2AM on Thursday, May 21. A male and a female were both getting off work at the Burger King when the female’s boyfriend started shooting at them. Records state that the female told police that the suspect, identified as Stanley Robinson, had come to the restaurant earlier that day and threatened her with a gun, saying he would kill her and then himself.
In the 2AM encounter, records state that Robinson returned and started firing at the female’s vehicle while she and the male were sitting inside of it. The male was shot in the arm, armpit and neck and was taken to Jackson Hospital for treatment.
Shortly afterward, police responded to a wreck involving Robinson that involved an SUV belonging to the female in the 1100 block of Ann Street, which is a short distance away from the restaurant, near Interstate 85.
Robinson was treated for injuries from the wreck at Baptist Medical Center South and taken into custody. He is charged with assault in the first degree and firing a gun into an occupied vehicle.
