MILLBROOK, Ala. (WAKA) – Millbrook police have arrested a Montgomery man following a high-speed chase that ran from Millbrook into Montgomery.

Millbrook Police Chief PK Johnson says 23-year-old Joelouis Duncan is being held in the Elmore County Jail without bond.

Johnson says just after 1:30PM today, officers tried to stop Duncan for several traffic violations on Alabama Highway 14, near Interstate 65. He said Duncan didn’t stop and turned south onto the interstate where he approached speeds of 100MPH. He turned onto Northern Boulevard and then onto Lower Wetumpka Road into the Chisholm community, Johnson said. After that, he said Duncan drove to Fairground Road and eventually circled back to Lower Wetumpka Road, where he stopped and was taken into custody.

Duncan is charged with felony attempting to elude and tampering with physical evidence.

Johnson said this was not the first time Duncan has tried to elude law enforcement, as he appeared to be out on bond for similar offenses committed in the 19th Judicial Circuit.
