ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery Whitewater to resume water activities

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Montgomery Whitewater has announced a date for when water activities will again be available.

Water operations will restart on Friday, May 29.

As Action 8 News has reported, Montgomery Whitewater had paused all water activities on April 24, so that its water filtration system could undergo maintenance. The center said the work was needed to maintain water quality levels.

Other activities continued during the period the water was turned off.

Megan McKenzie of Montgomery Whitewater released a statement, saying in part, “We are incredibly grateful for the patience, support and understanding shown by both the community and our media partners throughout this temporary shutdown. We truly appreciate the coverage and communication you all provided during this time.”
