Two year old baby killed in early morning shooting in Selma

A murder investigation is underway in Selma after a two-year old baby is killed in an early morning shooting.
Police say the child was killed when someone fired several gunshots into a trailer — at around 3 am Wednesday.
The shooting happened in the Selmont community on the 1000 block of Old Montgomery Highway.
The baby’s death has left people in the community outraged — and scared.
“Her life was taken from her, just like that,” said Brittany Peoples.
“So, we got to do better. Selma really got to do better. Y’all, we got kids, we got kids. We can’t have our kids, we can’t be afraid of our kids going to play, being in they own house, it ain’t safe no more.”
