Elevated rain chances continue this weekend, but June begins drier
Similar to Wednesday and Thursday morning, our area was mainly dry despite a mostly cloudy sky early Friday morning. However, by midday, scattered showers and storms formed across southwest Alabama. Shower and storm coverage gradually increases Friday afternoon, moving southwest to northeast. Outside of rain, some sunshine within a mostly cloudy sky may allow for temperatures to warm into the mid and even upper 80s in some locations.
Rain gradually tapers off after sunset, but the sky remains mostly cloudy Friday night with lows near 70°. Rain chances remain elevated this weekend, with scattered to numerous daytime showers and storms Saturday and Sunday. Rain coverage looks higher during the afternoon and early evening. The late night and early morning hours look mainly dry. Otherwise, a partly to mostly cloudy sky allows temperatures to warm into the mid 80s to near 90° each day.
