Juvenile charged with two counts of capital murder in Montgomery fatal shooting

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Montgomery police say a juvenile has been charged with two counts of capital murder in a fatal shooting that happened earlier this week.

The juvenile male is charged with killing 19-year-old Jaquan Tennille of Montgomery.

Police say on Monday, June 1, at about 1:30PM, they were called to the 3900 block of Dalraida Place. That’s where they found Tennille, who had a gunshot wound and had crashed his vehicle into a home. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

Officers arrested the suspect while still at the scene. He was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

The circumstances remain under investigation.

This was the 19th homicide of 2026 in Montgomery, police say.
