PIKE ROAD, Ala. (WAKA) – There’s a new leader at Pike Road High School.

At a special called board meeting Monday morning, the Pike Road school board selected Jarrod Traylor as the new principal at the school.

Traylor takes over the position as the school gets ready to move into the new high school on Wallahatchie Road.

The new facility is expected to be finished at the end of the year with students starting there in January.

Traylor is no stranger to the high school. He’s been the assistant principal for the last four years there.

“I just hope to stand on the shoulders of Andrea Maness whose done a great job of building up Pike Road High School for the previous 4 years and just continue to grow in everything we do,” said Traylor. “[and] Create a culture where our students and teachers come to school everyday and know they’re a part of something bigger and get 1% better everyday and create the best product possible.”
