Search underway for missing Elmore County teenager

ELMORE COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – The search is underway for an Elmore County missing teenager.

Sheriff Bill Franklin tells Action 8 News that 13-year-old Liam Hathcock was last seen around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday leaving his home in the Friendship community.

Franklin said they do not have any reason to believe he’s in any danger at this time.

Deputies are currently searching a wooded area near the home where they say kids like to play frequently.

Hathcock was last seen wearing khaki pants and a dark short sleeve shirt.
