Recently hired Elmore County school employee arrested

ELMORE COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – A recently hired school employee in Elmore County has been arrested.

Assistant Superintendent and Human Resources Director Susanne Goodin told Action 8 News that since it is “an ongoing legal matter and personnel issue,” they are limited in the details that they can provide at this time.

Goodin also said that they “want to assure families and our community members that student safety remains our highest priority.”

While the system did not release the identity and the reason for the arrest, the school system added that they will “pursue the termination of any employee who is charged with a crime against children.”

Action 8 News is aware of multiple reports naming the employee, but we have not been able to independently verify since the offense occurred out of state.

Once we are able to confirm it, we will be sure to pass it along.
