Body found in Millbrook lake identified
MILLBROOK, Ala. (WAKA) – Millbrook police have released the identity of the body found in a lake.
Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson said on Wednesday, June 17, they got a call from a homeowner saying that he saw a body floating in a small lake in the 2700 block of Sandtown Road.
The body was recovered and was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy and identification.
Chief Johnson tells Action 8 News the body beloned to 58-year-old Demetrius Bruce Zeigler, of Coosada.
Johnson says there wasn’t any obvious signs of foul play.
The case, which is still classified as a death investigation, remains active. Chief Johnson said they are now trying to determine how Zeigler died.
The Millbrook Police Department is still seeking the public’s assistance in this case.
