Crews spend Tuesday cleaning up from overnight storms

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Crews are spending part of the morning cleaning up from overnight storms that came through our area.

Action 8 News found crews working on Atlanta Highway at Bellehurst Drive.

Residents there are dealing with downed power lines and trees.

That portion of Atlanta Highway is closed. Police are asking to avoid the area and seek an alternate round while they are cleaning up the debris.

Thankfully, no reports of injuries at this time.

The Montgomery Zoo also says it will delay opening until noon Tuesday because of damage there.
