Montgomery police identify victim in Saturday shooting
MONTGOMERY, Ala (WAKA Action 8) – Montgomery police have released the name of the victim who died in Saturday’s shooting.
Montgomery police have identified the victim as 31-year-old Deadrain Holloway of Montgomery.
Police say the shooting happened at 7:52 p.m. in the 1500 block of Westcott Street.
Police say Holloway died at the scene. An adult female was also found at the scene with non-life threatening injuries from a gun shot wound. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
MPD charged 33-year-old Devonte Holloway with Capital Murder and Attempted Murder. He was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility without bond.
The case remains under investigation.
This was the 26th homicide of 2026.
