Ramer man dies in Lowndes County crash

LOWNDES COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – A single-vehicle crash in Lowndes County has claimed the life of a Ramer man.

It happened around 9:00 p.m.  Thursday on U.S. 80 near the 115 mile marker, approximately 10 miles west of Hayneville.

Troopers say 44-year-old Jacob Warner, Jr. was fatally injured when the SUV he was driving left the roadway and struck an embankment.

Warner, Jr was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
