Three people arrested after drug deal leads to shooting in Elmore County

ELMORE COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – Three people have been arrested after an attempted drug deal led to a shooting in Elmore County.

Sheriff Bill Franklin tells Action 8 News that it happened Thursday, July 2, in the Titus area.

He says three suspects, two males and one female, who are all about 17 to 18 years old, met up with a male, who was also around 17 or 18. Franklin says the male was trying to buy drugs from the suspects.

Franklin says the victim was shot during the attempted deal. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Franklin says the names of the suspects will be released if they are charged as adults. They are being held in the Elmore County Jail.
