MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Montgomery police say a man has been struck and killed by a train.

Montgomery police Lt. Tina McGriff told Action 8 News that just before 8:30 this morning, officers were called to Potomac Avenue near Boone Street. That is in a neighborhood behind Carver High School.

McGriff says that’s where officers found the man’s body.

She says this is the 17th traffic-related fatality reported in 2026.

At this time, the investigation remains active, and no additional details are available, McGriff says.
