SEC Media Days: Vanderbilt hopes to maintain momentum without Diego Pavia
TAMPA, Fla. (WAKA) – Action 8 Lace Up Sports is in Tampa, Florida, for SEC Media Days, where Vanderbilt head coach Clark Lea hopes to maintain momentum without his breakthrough quarterback Diego Pavia.
Pavia was a key piece of the Commodores recent success and won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award in 2025 as Lea was awarded with the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year. Vanderbilt went 10-3 last season and 6-2 in the SEC.
Now that Pavia is in the NFL, Lea has to keep the Commodores from falling back to its usual spot at or near the bottom of the SEC.
