PIKE ROAD, Ala. (WAKA) – Pike Road has announced that it is consolidating its primary fire and emergency services under one provider.

Mayor Gordon Stone says that today, the Pike Road Town Council unanimously approved the Pike Road Volunteer Fire Department as the primary fire and emergency service provider for all properties in the Town of Pike Road.

As Action 8 News has reported, the Rolling Hills Lakes Volunteer Fire Department had announced that its contract with the Town of Pike Road has ended. That fire department is located on Trotman Road, which is just off U.S. Highway 231 in the southern part of the Pike Road area.

Mayor Stone says the town council’s action provides clarity and efficiency.
