SEC Media Days: Will 2026 be the season that Texas wins its first SEC Championship?
TAMPA, Fla. (WAKA) – Action 8 Lace Up Sports is in Tampa, Florida, for SEC Media Days, where Texas has amassed a ton of talent in order to make a serious run at its first SEC Championship title.
Besides returning quarterback Arch Manning, the Longhorns have added wide receiver Cam Coleman from Auburn and running back Hollywood Smothers, who had committed to Alabama from NC State before deciding to go to Texas instead.
Texas was 10-3 in 2025, and 6-2 in the SEC, one game behind Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas A&M, which all had 7-1 SEC records.
Action 8 Sports Analyst John Longshore says head coach Steve Sarkisian has more talent than ever.
