Man arrested in connection with July 4th shooting in Brundidge

BRUNDIDGE, Ala. (WAKA Action 8) – Brundidge police have made an arrest in connection with a July 4th shooting that left three people injured.

Brundidge police chief Ulane Jamison confirmed to Action 8 that 35-year-old Laquan Bryant of Troy was arrested Friday morning. He has been charged with two counts of assault- second degree.

Bryant is in the Pike County on a $5,000 bond for each count.

Police say more charges are possible as the investigation continues.

As Action 8 News has reported, three people suffered non-life threatening injuries in a shooting at around 1:00 A.M., on July 4th at Grown Folks Cafe and Lounge on East Troy Street in Brundidge.

 All three were taken to Troy Regional Medical Center for treatment.
