Montgomery police officer relieved of duty after off-duty incident

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – A Montgomery police officer has been relieved of duty after she was charged in an off-duty incident.

35-year-old Ineka Skipper was charged with 3rd degree domestic violence-criminal mischief and 3rd degree domestic violence-menacing.

Skipper, who was on extended military leave at the time of the incident, turned herself in to police today.

The Montgomery Police Department says Skipper joined the force in 2014. She was assigned to the Training and Career Development Bureau.

Police have released no other information.
