1 dead, 1 injured in Autauga County crash
AUTAUGA COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – A two-vehicle crash in Autauga County has claimed the life of an Elmore man.
It happened around 9:39 p.m. Wednesday on I-65 near the 190 mile marker, approximately 10 miles north of Prattville.
Troopers say 58-year-old George Jones, Jr. was fatally injured when the car he was driving was hit in the rear by another driver.
Jones was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was also injured and taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
