Man injured in overnight shooting in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA Action 8) – Montgomery police are investigating a Wednesday morning shooting that injured a man.

Montgomery police say officers and Montgomery Fire/Rescue were called to the 2600 block of Poplar Street in Montgomery around 2:46 A.M. in reference to a person shot.

When responding officers got there, they found a man who sustained a life-threatening gun shot wound. The man was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment.

Right now, there is no further information on a suspect or motive.
