Montgomery Police Department to hold community prayer rally

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – The Montgomery Police Department is inviting the community to come together for an evening of prayer and worship.

Montgomery for Jesus will take place on Sunday, August 30 starting at 4:00 p.m. at the Riverfront Amphitheater.

The event is being put on by Operation Good Shepherd, which is a community outreach initiative of the police department.

Organizers say thousands of believers from churches throughout the Riverfront area of Montgomery will gather for an evening of live worship, corporate prayer, encouragement and the proclamation of the Gospel.

Action 8’s Teresa Lawson sat down with MPD Chaplain Chauncey Ballard and Operation Good Shepherd Advisor Leo Lewis, Sr. to learn more about the event. You can watch that interview above.
