Former St. James star named starting quarterback at Arkansas

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Football season is getting closer, and no matter your favorite team, you may want to also pull for the Arkansas Razorbacks this year.

That’s because Arkansas has just named former St. James quarterback KJ Jackson as its starter. Jackson was a redshirt freshman at Arkansas last season, playing in five games. He threw for a total of 441 yards and three touchdowns and got to start in the final game of the season against SEC foe Missouri.

He was a four-star prospect coming out of St. James, where he played for coach Neal Posey. Jackson was ranked as the 18th best high school quarterback in the country.

During his high school years, his 130 touchdowns is third-best in Alabama high school football history.

He and the Razorbacks will play at Auburn on November 7.
