Proposed Alabama car tag to honor Dolly Parton and her Imagination Library
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – As tributes pour in around the world for Dolly Parton, you have the chance to show your love for her right here in Alabama.
The state is seeing how many drivers might be interested in purchasing a special Dolly Parton car tag.
This tag honors her commitment to her Imagination Library, which provides free books to young children in all 67 Alabama counties.
In order for the tag to be produced, there needs to be at least 1,000 commitments by May first of next year. So far, there are around 400.
Proceeds from the $50 tag will go toward providing books for children in the county where the vehicle is registered.

Parton died Tuesday at the age of 80 in Nashville, Tennessee, after a battle with cancer.
