Action 8 Preseason Blitz: Can Alabama State make the postseason?
ACTION 8 PRESEASON BLITZ (WAKA) – As the Alabama State Hornets prepare to start the season, what are the chances they can reach the postseason?
Action 8 Sports Analyst John Longshore says he likes their chances behind veteran quarterback Andrew Body.
Last year, the Hornets were 10-2 under head coach Eddie Robinson, Jr., who is entering his fifth season. ASU ended the season tied for first place in the SWAC East Division. They are the top pick in the East Division this year.
The Hornets open the 2026 season by playing Southern at Legion Field this afternoon. Kickoff is at 2PM on ESPNU.
The matchup with Southern is the first of two games ASU will play at Legion Field this season. They will face rival Alabama A&M in the 85th Magic City Classic on Oct. 31.
The 2025 season marked Alabama State’s first 10-win season since 2004 and the school’s 11th 8-plus win season.
