State Troopers: Union Springs man driving van involved in fatal wreck

BARBOUR COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – Alabama State Troopers say a Union Springs man was driving a van involved in a fatal wreck in Barbour County.

State Troopers say 35-year-old Josue Joseph was driving the van that left the road, hit a ditch, a tree and then overturned.

The crash killed a passenger, 46-year-old Simeon Onnette of Lauderhill, Florida, and injured another passenger, 44-year-old Jean-Charles Fausnert of Leominster, Massachusetts, who was taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatmet.

The wreck happened just before 4:30 this morning on U.S. Highway 82, about seven miles east of Midway.
