U.S. Marshals searching for Montgomery capital murder suspect; $2,500 reward offered
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force needs your help finding a man wanted for two counts of capital murder in Montgomery.
According to CrimeStoppers, the task force wants to find William Jordan Wingard. A $2,500 reward is being offered for information that leads to Wingard’s location and arrest.
Montgomery police tell Action 8 News that Wingard is a second suspect in a fatal shooting that happened in July. The victim, 62-year-old Alan Griffin of Montgomery, was shot just before 6PM on Monday, July 27, in the 500 block of Woodbrook Drive, which is near Northern Boulevard.
A juvenile has already been arrested and charged with capital murder in the case.
Wingard is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds.
Authorities say in August, a large multi-agency law-enforcement operation was conducted at multiple locations across Montgomery in an effort to locate Wingard.
Because Wingard is wanted on two counts of capital murder, authorities urge the public to consider him potentially dangerous. Do not approach, confront, or attempt to apprehend him.
If you know where he can be found, call CrimeStoppers at (334) 215-STOP.
