Alabama State shuts out Lane College 34-0 in home opener

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama State has shut out Lane College 34-0 to start the season at 2-0.

Lane College is a Division II school from West Tennessee.

The Hornets used several running backs for 36 carries and 150 yards. Quarterback Andrew Body, who got in on the ground action with 28 yards on four carries of his own, went 10-for-14 through the air for 113 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

Alabama State claimed its first shutout since a 27-0 win over Mississippi Valley State in 2019. This game marked the team’s 15th consecutive game scoring at least 30 points.

The Hornets will face Troy University next Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3PM.
