Man shot and killed in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Montgomery police say a man known to them has been shot and killed in the 800 block of Taylor Street.

That location is near Claudette Colvin Drive off Upper Wetumpka Road.

Police say at around 6PM tonight, they and fire medics were called to that location, where they found a man dead of gunshot wounds. They say the man was known to law enforcement authorities from prior interactions. Preliminary evidence has led investigators to believe this was a targeted attack and that there is no ongoing danger to the general public.

Police say out of respect for the family, the man’s identity is being withheld pending full family notification.
