New workforce training facility opens at Perry Co. PREP Center

The Alabama Bureau of Pardons & Paroles and Ingram State Technical College unveil a new workforce training facility — today at the Perry County PREP Center near Uniontown.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the facility was held Wednesday morning

Ingram State provides adult education and workforce training at the PREP Center.

The new training facility will provide expanded opportunities for program participants to gain hands-on technical skills — and industrial workforce credentials.

“I’m leaving this place better than I came, equipped with the skills, the tools, the confidence and the right mind-set to be a better man,” said PREP Center graduate Calvin McGuire.

The PREP Center has graduated over 600 participants since it opened in 2022.
