Woman accused of murdering husband in Tallassee

TALLASSEE, Ala. (WAKA) – Tallassee police say a woman is now in custody for the alleged murder of her husband.

Chief Todd Buce says on September 23rd, officers were initially called to a home in the 1300 block of Riverknolle Road on a report of a suicide.

Once they arrived, they found 75-year-old Martin Nease dead from a gunshot wound.

After gathering evidence on the scene and following later developments, the suicide was updated to a homicide.

Chief Buce says on September 26th, Tallassee investigators and the SWAT team executed a felony warrant for murder on 64-year-old Aprill Nease.

Aprill Nease was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Tallapoosa County Jail on no bond.
