ONLY ON 8: Day 2 of Great Alabama 650 river race

LAY LAKE, Ala. (WAKA) – Day two of the Great Alabama 650 is in the books. It’s the largest river race in the world.

Racers set off yesterday from Weiss Lake in northeast Alabama. Today, they maneuvered through Logan Martin Dam and Lay Lake, which is south of Birmingham.

They are preparing to race into Wetumpka and Montgomery tomorrow, going from the Coosa River and entering the Alabama River.

The race concludes Tuesday, October 13, at Fort Morgan on the Alabama coast.
