Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons breaks ground on Millbrook office

MILLBROOK, Ala. (WAKA) – A medical business that has been serving the River Region for 30 years is now expanding it’s reach to Millbrook.

Southern Orthopaedic Surgeons is coming to 17 Springs. Its 14,000 square foot medical office will include services for walk-in orthopedic injuries, physical therapy and MRI imaging.

The new building is a big investment in orthopaedic care for the growing Millbrook area and surrounding communities.

It is also part of the bigger expansion of 17 Springs and how far the area has come in the last decade.

“It started out, we just had the pickleball courts and the tennis courts and soccer fields,” Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley told Action 8 News. “Over the years, it’s grown and grown and grown. Now we’ve got the marketplace doing fantastic things, Baumhowers is doing tremendously well down there, Chick-fil-A will be breaking ground next month, 12/20 Cafe from Tallassee will be here, et cetera We’ve got a lot of things going and S.O.S. to me is kind of the crown jewel. It’s not that they sell anything, we don’t get sales tax dollars, but I wanted this for the City of Millbrook.”

The new office is expected to open late next year.
