Montgomery County probate judge shares tips for Alabama voters

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) — Alabama voters will head to the polls Nov. 3 for the 2026 general election, when voters will decide races for governor and other offices across the state.

With Election Day approaching, Montgomery County Probate Judge J.C. Love spoke with Action 8’s Estee Morrison about what voters need to know before casting their ballots and how they can make sure their votes count.

Voters can check their registration information, find their polling location and review available ballot information through the Alabama Secretary of State’s voter information system or the Montgomery County Election Center.

Alabama requires voters casting ballots in person to show an acceptable form of photo identification.

Eligible voters who cannot vote in person on Election Day may be able to vote by absentee ballot.

The voter registration deadline for the Nov. 3 election is Oct. 19. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 27, while absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by noon on Nov. 3.
