It happened February 17, 2008.
Businesses and neighborhoods along Cobbs Ford Road were hit the hardest by 150 mile per hour winds.
Twenty-nine people were taken to the hospital with injuries.
EMA Director Ernie Baggett says there have been lessons learned since that day.
“Well, with anything that happens, anytime there is an event, there is the good and the bad. We take those pieces and we look back at that regularly,” said Baggett.
One of the changes in the past 8 years has been syncing the sirens across the county. It has helped to prepare residents better. Baggett says a new siren will be going up in the Fig Tree community soon.
