Pay it Forward: Valetta Robinson of Montgomery
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA)- Veletta Robinson works at the Council on Substance Abuse as a program coordinator. There, she helps veterans through Hope 4 Heroes and Families, which is an initiative that offers services to veterans, including support groups, basic needs, housing, education, and recovery.
But she does much more beyond her normal job.
“Whenever there is a need, I’m trying to be the helper I can be,” says Robinson. “I’m not originally from here and I’ve worn a lot of hats, help a lot of people. That is my goal. My motto is to do all I can, for all I can, while I can.”
Outside of her normal job, Valetta is always available to provide a helping hand. And no matter the challenge, you can always count on her to step up.
Damond Davis/ nominator
“Valetta is probably one of the best people I’ve ever met in my life,” says Damond Davis, who nominated Valetta. “She’s always authentic. She always has a kind word. She will cook for you, she always has a hug for you. Just a wonderful person.”
And that is why Stewart Vance with the Vance Law Firm is surprising her.
Valetta has been through a lot in her life. But she uses that as motivation to be the good in the world.
“One of the people that you think would have probably the most disheartening spirit has blessed so many of us with the best because she brings the best of herself every single day,” says Davis.
And she plans to pay it forward even more — with her $333
‘I don’t know. Bless somebody with it, help somebody. It’s like getting back to me what I just gave out helping somebody. So that is how God works right? You give and it comes back. So, whatever he puts on my heart to do, that is what I’m going to do,” says Valetta.
Thank you, Valetta, for all you to do Pay It Forward!
