Harvest Hope Tennis Tournament serves up support for local nonprofits in a fun way
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) — A tennis fundraiser is serving up support for two local nonprofits working with children and adults with disabilities.
The annual Harvest Hope Tennis Tournament returns Oct. 22 to Lagoon Park Tennis Center, bringing together tennis, barbecue, live music and activities for kids.
Sarah Housley, director of Cradle through Independence at Faulkner University, and Beth Bushman, founder of RISE Up, spoke with Action 8’s Teresa Lawson about how the fundraiser will benefit Dream Court and RISE Up.
Dream Court provides adaptive tennis programs for children and adults with physical, developmental and intellectual disabilities. RISE Up offers inclusive early childhood education and pediatric therapy for children from 6 weeks to 6 years old.
The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Lagoon Park Tennis Center, 2855 Lagoon Park Drive in Montgomery.
