Help Is on the Way for I-85 Congestion in Montgomery, but It Will Take Time
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) — Drivers who regularly travel along Interstate 85 near Taylor Road can expect changes ahead as the Alabama Department of Transportation continues construction on a major highway improvement project.
The project aims to increase capacity and improve traffic flow along a busy stretch of the interstate. However, drivers will have to wait for the improvements, with construction expected to take about three and a half years.
ALDOT spokesperson Brantley Kirk spoke with Action 8’s Estee Morrison about the project’s multiple phases and what drivers can expect as the work progresses.
