Award-Winning Blues Artist Vanessa Collier to Perform at Capitol Oyster Bar in Montgomery
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) — The Capitol Oyster Bar is celebrating 30 years in Montgomery and 15 years at its location along the Alabama River with a special live blues concert Friday, Oct. 23.
The event will feature award-winning American blues, funk and soul saxophonist, singer and songwriter Vanessa Collier and her band. The performance begins at 6:30 p.m., and the cover charge is $15 per person.
Capitol Oyster Bar owner Lewis Mashburn spoke with Action 8’s Estee Morrison about what makes the concert a must-see event for blues fans.
Located at 617 Shady St., the seafood restaurant regularly hosts musicians on Sundays as part of its Blues on the River series.
Upcoming performances include Kat Riggins on Nov. 1 and Ghost Town Blues Band on Nov. 8.
