Pike Road announces “Hay, Look at Us!” contest winners

PIKE ROAD, Ala. (WAKA) – A lot of towns in our area have Halloween traditions. In Pike Road, businesses and neighborhoods compete in a hay bale decorating contest, and the winners have just been announced.

There were more than 80 entries in what’s called the “Hay, Look at Us!” competition.

The hay bale that won in the neighborhood category was created by the Foxwood neighborhood, and features a family of foxes. The largest fox is the one made from a hay bale.

This is the 2026 winner of the “Hay, Look at Us!” hay bale competition in the business/organization category, created by American Sport Fish Hatchery – Photo from Town of Pike Road

And keeping with the animal theme, American Sport Fish Hatchery won the business category, and for rookie of the year. Fittingly, its entry is a large fish.

You can see the entries on display throughout Pike Road until early next month.
