Selma Police releases new details in recent double homicide
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
Selma police release new information about a recent double homicide in the city. They’re also reaching out to the public for more information about the case.
Police chief Ettice Brickus called a press conference Wednesday afternoon at Selma City Hall.
She provided new details about a Saturday morning double homicide at Chanticleer Apartments — and released the names of the victims.

Brickus says the shooting happened when an argument between two men escalated and turned deadly.
“Upon arrival an individual was located inside of a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. That individual was transported to Vaughan ER where he later succumbed to his injuries,” said Brickus.
“A second individual was also transported to Vaughan ER by private vehicle, also with apparent gunshot wounds. That individual also succumbed to his injuries. Those individuals were identified as 30 year old, Jamie Hale and 29 year old Antonio Thomas, Jr.”
Brickus says the investigation remains ongoing. And investigators are looking for several individuals — who were in the area at the time of the incident. They believe the individuals may have tampered with evidence in the case.
“Whenever an incident happens, it’s always under investigation until we go to trial,” said Brickus.
“So, I just ask again, that anybody who has any information share it with us please.”
